The Foster Care Program
One of our key initiatives if the Foster Home Program. Through a longstanding local partnership with the Apostolic Faith Mission Social Development Division (AFMSDD), the Foster Home Program supports foster mothers and fathers to care for orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) in their communities. BOH considers a child to be an individual who is 18 years of age or younger.
Foster parents live with and care for children in each home, allowing children to experience a loving home, have access to healthcare, and receive a quality education. Counselling and training are also provided by the AFMSDD social workers. Through this partnership, there are five foster homes being supported across Lesotho.

Our hope is that the children in these homes can be reunited with living family members if possible. Or, in other cases, that they receive the education and psychosocial support needed to become self-sufficient and independent adults.
