12 Days of Christmas Giving
On the 1st Day of Christmas, donate $10 for toys! Our foster kids are well taken care of and part of a loving family, but they are still kids who love to play. Please consider donating $10 towards toys and light up some smiles for our foster kids. Our kids love jump rope, soccer, dolls, drawing and cars.
On the 2nd day of Christmas, donate $20 for toiletries! Ever fight with your kids to brush their teeth? This might be a universal struggle! Consider donating $20 towards toiletries for the amazing kids that our foster home programs supports. Just like kiddos in Canada, they need toothbrushes, tooth paste, soap and deodorant!
On the 3rd day of Christmas, donate $30 for shoes! For those of you who have kids, you know how quickly they go through their shoes. Our foster kids are no different. They are busy playing and learning all day and need strong, sturdy shoes to keep up with them.
Feminine Hygiene Products
On the 4th day of Christmas, donate $40 for feminine hygiene products! Feminine hygiene products give our girls the comfort to go to school without worry. Let’s support their independence and their education by supplying them with these products!
Sheets & Blankets
On the 5th day of Christmas, donate $50 for blankets and linens! It’s summer in Lesotho right now, but pretty soon it will be winter again. Did you know that it snows in Lesotho? Help us keep our foster kids and parents warm throughout the winter by donating $50 for blankets and linens.
On the 6th day of Christmas, donate $60 for breakfast! Our foster home program currently has 6 homes and 54 children. That is a lot of mouths to feed and the program just continues to grow with children needing a safe home. A social worker and nutritionist work hard to ensure that our foster kids are healthy, but we need your help! Consider donating $60 towards nutritious meals for our kids.
On the 7th day of Christmas, donate $70 towards self-care kits for our foster parents! Five of the foster homes have a foster mother and a sixth home has a husband and wife team. Equipping our foster parents with the means to keep the homes clean and safe is one of our top priorities. Consider donating $70 towards kits for our foster parents that include sewing supplies, laundry detergent, wash clothes, soap, herbal tea and First Aid supplies.
On the 8th day of Christmas, donate $80 for gardening tools! Some of our foster homes have small gardens for growing vegetables. These vegetables add nutritional value to meals and allow the kids to learn valuable skills that they can use to support themselves when they are older. Consider donating $80 for gardening tools to help each foster home keep their gardens healthy and thriving.
On the 9th Day of Christmas, donate $90 for clean water! Some of our foster homes have boreholes, meaning that they have a steady supply of water year-round, while other homes rely on city or community water. When there is a drought, water is in short supply and foster parents or older kids have to wait in long lines or walk quite a ways to get it. Lesotho is experiencing drought right now and a few of our foster homes are feeling its effects. Please consider donating $90 for clean water on this 9th day of Christmas.
Pig & Chicken Feed
On the 10th day of Christmas, donate $100 for pig and chicken feed! Two of the income generating projects we support are a piggery and a poultry project. The profits that the piggery and poultry project make go directly to the foster home program. Help us keep our pigs and chickens well fed and healthy, so that they can produce lots of piglets and eggs for market! The more income they generate, the more goes to the foster home program and to our amazing foster children. Consider donating $100 for pig and chicken feed this 10th day of Christmas.
On the 11th day of Christmas, donate $110 for educational supplies! We know that as education levels increase in a country… disease, violence, corruption, malnutrition and poverty go down and gender equality goes up. While education is just one piece in a complicated puzzle, we want to equip our foster kids with the tools to thrive when they are older. Knowledge is power and our dream for our foster kids is for them to be powerful leaders in their families and communities. Consider donating $110 for education.
Some of our foster kids are HIV positive. With proper monitoring and treatment, there is no reason why these kids can’t live a happy and healthy life! On this last day of Christmas giving, please consider donating $120 towards medical expenses and help us continue to provide them with treatment they need and deserve.
