Bill C393 - Canadian Access to Medicines Regime

After being passed in the House of Commons by a vote of 172 to 111, with support from members of all political parties, Bill C393 was blocked in the Senate – repeatedly adjourned until the current election was called, at which time the bill died on the order paper. This bill, which would have amended the Canadian Access to Medicines Regime to enable the export of low-priced generic drugs to countries in need, has the support of 80 % of Canadians.
