Guelph students inspired to save the world

Please see this recent article about a group of Guelph students ready to change the world and the documentary that describes their recent journey to Lesotho.

Bee Keeping In Lesotho

St. Dominic’s Youth group video. A group of 14 youth from Tiping, Lesotho, most of whom are HIV-positive, who want to do something to change their futures. BoH is working with this group to set up a beekeeping enterprise. They plan to start with 20 hives and expand to 100 hives. They will keep 50% of the profits to share among the members for food, transportation and medical care. 35% will go to expanding the operation and 15% will go to help others with HIV in the community.

Did you know that half of all new HIV infections are among those 15-24 years old and of those, about three-quarters of those infected are young women. Around the world, 5 youth are infected with AIDS every minute; 7,000 are newly infectedevery day. Your support of projects like the St. Dominic’s youth group’s beekeeping business is critical in helping youth both avoid AIDS and to manage it if they do become infected.
